[VISTA] Re: Vista Business and Hard Drive Issue

Hmmm? I tried googling this and I probably didn't use the correct terms
apparently! :-( Anyway, I read this one and a few others and
un-installed KB938979 and so far, so good! :-)

According to M$, this update is suppose to "improve" performance!
<shrug> Go Figure! Now that the hd don't clank and spin, I can now dive
further into it! :-)

I don't understand why you had to install a IDE drive though. Although
with my other computer with just SATA drives in it, I had to supply the
SATA/RAID drivers first before Vista would see the drives. Maybe this is
what's happening/happened to you that the drivers weren't installed
first?

Other than this problem and the not liking my SB Live 5.1 soundcard, I
have no major complaints about Vista. In some ways it seems a LOT faster
than XP. Like someone said on one of the forums, it does have its
annoyances! :-( One would "think" with full Admin rights (we're talking
SUPERUSER) you'd be able to access certain folders like Application Data
and what not. So far I haven't figured it out yet. That way I can copy
my Mailwasher Pro settings over to Vista without having to enter
everything again and lose all my filters!

Well, better get my tail moving to go to work!

Thanks Ray!
