JOB OPENING in the San Francisco Bay Area
We are seeking a Cooking Instructor for adult learners at the Orientation Center for the Blind located in Albany, California. This position is with the State of California Department of Rehabilitation, offering great benefits and a pleasant work environment. Salary range is $3825 - $6454 per month, depending on education and experience. Full time and part-time substitute positions are available.
Requirements include; possession of a valid California teaching credential or credential application on file, as well as knowledge of the principles of food preparation and clean-up, shopping, nutrition, food and kitchen safety, all with an emphasis on hands-on adaptive blind techniques.
Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including; ability to work both independently and as part of a team, good problem-solving and time management skills, attention to detail, flexibility, good assessment and communication skills, awareness of others’ potential and ability to foster self-worth in others, plus a love of teaching.
