I was asked and since my reaction to the question is probably different from someone who has driven all their life, well... A client who has pretty bad vision wanted to know what would happen if he got into an accident because he said he hasn't turned in his license. I didn't know what to say. he uses a cane in unfamiliar areas and has some difficulty with glare and fine detail. he told me he doesn't drive in the city, and on the highway he gets behind a semi and that way he knows he is on the road. Smile. Does anyone know what we should do. I told him it was a personal decision, and that if he was in an accident his poor vision would be taken into account probably against him. What I was thinking was, "No, man" don't go out and drive! You can't see to get around an unfamiliar building, and hjave difficulty with glare, I hope you don't do anything stupid. How can I handle this professionally and yet still resourcefully to present all the aspects of the situation? He is in the state of Ohio if that has any berring on the situation. Thanks everyone.
