GUILD FOR THE BLIND
Instructor, Adaptive Technology Services




Reports to: Manager of Adaptive Technology Services
Department: The Robert Stone Center for Adaptive Technology
Date: July 01, 2009





Job Purpose:
To provide computer and adaptive technology support and instruction.  To assist 
in the improvement of the adaptive technology curriculum.

Job Duties:
1.       Teach adaptive technology classes.
2.       Provide support and training to our off-site clients.
3.       Demonstrate the hardware/software/training available at the Guild.
4.       Conduct technology and training evaluations to report appropriate 
referring agencies the adaptive needs of consumers.
5.       Work with Manager of Adaptive Technology Services to evaluate and 
expand the curriculum as needed.
6.       Update and develop course materials.
7.       Perform other duties as assigned by Manager of Adaptive Technology 
Services

Education and Experience:
1.       Bachelor degree in education, computer science, or other related field 
required.
2.       Two years experience in teaching (adults?)
3.       Strong computer skills including MS Office, IE, and other commonly 
used applications.
4.       Experience with adaptive technology preferred.
5.       Good communication and presentation skills.
6.       Demonstrable computer related training and curriculum development 
skills.
