[visionegg] unicode support

i've been dealing with xml files for materials, and i've been impeded by
the fact that visionegg only supports strings.  when will the update to
unicode occur?

i've been getting around this by encoding the unicode to ascii, but
it's really annoying.

just a feature request.  visionegg is a great piece of software.
