A thought: is there a way to set the parameters for the sine gratings
such
as to produce a simple black and white grating? (ie. black for 6
pixels,
white for six pixels, black for 6 pixels, white for six pixels, etc.)
Yes. When contrast = 1.0, the Vision Egg uses the maximum luminance
range possible without clipping. With contrast > 1.0, it starts
clipping. Therefore, if you set contrast much, much greater than 1.0,
you'll get square wave gratings. So, set contrast to 1e5 or so.
Cheers!
