Hello!
Our electrophysiological setup is currently working with simple white

frequency of mice we are looking for a CRT monitor with an appropriate
high vertical refresh frequency - and bright should it be too.
Vertical frequency range depends on the screen resolution used. Standard 17" CRT will deliver this for lower pixel resolutions around 160 Hz. The iyama HM903DT for example delivers 200 Hz vertical freq. at 640x480 pixels, most Sony and EIZO CRT will at least give 170 Hz for the vertical frequency. For any decent ATI or NVIDIA graphic board this shouldn't be any problem (for giving a more "standard" example: a ATI RADEON 9000 can drive a monitor till 1024x768 pixels at 200Hz - as long as the monitor is able to display this).
Refer to the visionegg webpage about tools for setting the framerate on Linux or Windows Systems.
cheers,
Markus
