Hello,
Yeah, running VisionEgg in fullscreen mode is like running a 3D game in
fullscreen mode. The refresh rate settings for fullscreen are different
from your normal windows desktop refresh rate settings. You might be
able to go into one of the options menus in your video card driver and
override the settings for OpenGL/DirectX. I know this is the case for
the latest Nvidia and ATI drivers, and it's what I've been doing.
Otherwise, you can try using one of the standalone programs for forcing
refresh rates (http://www.visionegg.org/framerate.html). I gave
powerstrip a try, but I found it really frustrating. I'd suggest trying
refreshforce if you can't find any settings in you driver software. If
you have a semi-modern monitor, it should be able to display its current
frame rate on its on-screen menu.
Cheers,
Martin

Well, this is strange. I did think it was odd that the
targetBackground.py demo would be too much for my card to handle. I do
have the video card set at the right frequency - 75Hz - and when I run
programs windowed I get the time values clustered at 13ms, as you
would expect. However, for some reason when I run any of the demos
full screen, I get what appears to be a 60Hz refresh rate...
To be absolutely clear, I have resolution set to 1024x768, 75Hz, and
when I run any of the demos at this resolution, but leave the
Fullscreen box unchecked, I get 75fps. Checking the box invariably
gives me 60Hz. I never noticed this before. Any ideas?
