Congrats George. This .TGZ download / upgrade from the COS works PERFECT too. You can do these remote with no problems. Yes as for the booting to Linux... - The answer I believe (although not really important I guess) is the VMkernel could not completely unload because you (might) share an HBA with the console OS most likely. The Console OS VMID 127 is considered a VM as well. But I think this only happens when you share the HBA with the COS. I just like to talk about VMware I guess ;-) David esxRanger, HOT backup for VMware ESX Servers http://www.vizioncore.com -----Original Message----- From: virtualize-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:virtualize-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of George Yobst Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 11:27 AM To: virtualize@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [virtualize] Re: ESX 2.5 Upgrade Thanks David, The update went very smooth, I must say. I then updated to 2.5 patch 1, and the only small glitch there was that I had to boot into Linux instead of ESX because that upgrade thought I had some clients running (not). No probs, no config changes, and it was all over in less that 1/2 hour for both. -George On Tue, 15 Mar 2005 17:52:05 -0600, David M.
