hi guys, thanks for your responses, yes, it is in the work place, this is what they use in the office, lotus notes. this is a new position for me and I would like to get in to the work straight away rather than wasting time with learning a new program.
I think I'll give it a miss. many thanks susan----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Lawler" <stuart.lawler@xxxxxxx>

Just to add to what Nicky has said here, Lotus Notes is not a stand-alone application, in other words, you wouldn't install it on your home pc like you would with outlook or outlook express. So Susan, unless you are in the workplace and it is either being used or being introduced there, then you don't need to worry about it. Might get round to doing that but then again I do be busy at times so Susan, Lotus notes. First of all I would agree with Paul here as he has been great with metrying to figure it out and thanks for that Paul and I have gotten to grips with it. I would say though that if there is no necessity for you to use itSusan then just stay with outlook express or MS outlook. It is tricky and you could be talked through it and get use to it in time but if its a case that you don't have to then don't bother. You are restricted from doing some things with it and just all in all it does make things more difficultbut if for a work reason you have to use it then I am sure that Paul or even myself if you like could offer some help to you off list about it. Get backto me about it if you need more assistance from my end. Cheers, Nicky. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan Curry" <SusanCurry@xxxxxxx> To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, September 17, 2007 4:52 PM Subject: [vip_students] Re: lotus noteshi paul, do you mean it is not accessable with any of the screen readers? many thanks susan----- Original Message ----- From: "NCBI Technical Support" <paul.traynor@xxxxxxx>To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, September 17, 2007 4:31 PM Subject: [vip_students] Re: lotus notesHi Susan,I am not a user of lotus notes but I think another member of our list is, Nicky and he would agree with me that Lotus Notes are an application bestavoided with accessibility technology.
