The main difference is what version of JAWS he's using. It sounds, from your description, as if he is using a version of JAWS that doesn't support his version of internet Explorer. JAWS9 (last release), JAWS10 and JAWS11 support both Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8. JAWS7.01, JAWS8 and up support Internet Explorer 7.

hi folks

my friend is having trouble with his laptop, can any one help please?
When he opens internet explorer and if he trieds to arrow down or up arrow or tab jaws keeps saying open parent document and also if you do control + O the dialogue box wont work ( you cant type in it). You also cant use the edit box in the search engine in google. 

He is using Interent Explorer 7 or 8 does this make any difference.
