Perhaps me cheating a little as I don't have an iPhone, well as yet anyway!

Hi Tony,
Yes there is a lock button on the iphone. You can either set it to lock
automatically after a certain period or simply press the power button briefly
and it locks the phone.

I have been asked to enquire if there is a gesture/tap for the iPhone to
lock it so as one couldn't inadvertently activate anything a bit like the lock
command on the Nokia idea?
