try going to the folder to be deleted
hit application key and down arrow to delete
about the E mails going to spam
if you move one back into the in box new E mails from the same source usually 
follow

  trying to delete contacts from windos mail, I think  that's what its called. 
I renamed it outlook express.  If I go to a contact and hit delete it does 
nothing and says programme not responding, have loads of contacts that I don't 
use and would like to tidy them up.
  also on another note, I have emails going into my spam folder and all these 
emails are   from  the guidedog staff, its quite odd even if they post to the 
guidedog list they go into spam but  the other guidedog emails don't.
