Yes you can turn off the speakers on your screen but this is done from the 
screen itself.  I cannot tell you how to do this as someone needs to see it on 
the screen itself.  You would not turn off screen speakers from the Control 
Panel though you could mute the sound which would be no good as presumably you 
intend using headphones to hear the speech.
