[vip_students] backup question

hello folks
can someone just confirm for me. when I do a back up using ms vista. I go to
the backup and restore on my computer go through the steps and a list comes up
with check boxes that I have to check,documents, emails, favorites xcetra.
does this mean that my email messages are backed up and not the program. I just
don't want to loose everything like I did before. many thanks in advance.
