Hi Susan,
The latest version of the adobi reader is version 8. I sent you in an
earlier message the download for the correct file this morning. Now as for
removing the older version do the following;
1. Go into the start menu, then arrow down to settings and right arrow
into control panel. Now press the enter key.
2. Look for add-remove programs and press the enter key.
3. After a few seconds a list of applications on your computer will
come up so arrow down this list till you come to the old adobi version.
4. Now tab about twice or three times till you comet o a remove button
and hit the spacebar.
5. If you are asked things such as are you sure you want to remove this
application, then tab to yes or the ok button and hit the enter key.
When it is finished reboot the computer and you are ready to download and
install the new version.

what is the latest version of the adobe reader, I think Maureen says it was
version 8. If it is 8 that's not the version I have on my computer, how do I
remove this program? I have never removed a program before so could you give
me some instructions please? Then I can download the latest version.

Hi Susan,
Have no worries about using adobi reader as it works fine with jaws as long
as it is the correct version. You need to download the "full download of the
adobi reader. I have pasted in the direct download for the version below for
anyone who might need it.

I have, and use, Adobe 8 on my computer and it doesn't interfere with Jaws.
As far as I know this is the latest version.

is it correct what I've heard that if you have adobe on your computer it cam
interfere with jaws?
some one sent me an attachment with this article but it was in PDF format
and I know I don't have adobe reader on my computer because of what I've
heard about it interfering with the jaws.

Hi Susan,
Just to help out here. Adobe Reader is the program that gives you access to
PDF files (you cannot read them with any other program). So I guess your
computer is trying to install it so that it can open the PDF file. Paul may
be able to talk you through the install over the phone if you need further
help.
