Aidan, a few ways to move forward on this one. First off what screen reader
are you using? I use my Apple device and it is great. If the problem cannot
be resolved then I would contact the OverDrive department at RNIB and they will
remotely access via your computer and help you out. This might sound crazy but
once I was doing it on my computer using Windows and I had forgotten that I had
got my computer to remember my username and password so I kept putting them in
again and again and all I was doing was creating a very long string of
usernames and passwords and of course I was being rejected all the time! Mo
who I think is on this list, might be able to assist you as I found him very
helpful at the time in sorting my issues out.
However, like I say I now mainly use it on my iPhone, iPad and I find it just
fine. Do come back if you think you can provide me with more info.
Interestingly I was unaware that people outside the UK could use this service
from RNIB. Would it be some issues to do with something like that?
How recently have you been able to log in successfully?
Eleanor

Dear Eleanor,
In August 2016, you reported that you were happily and successfuly using
"OVERDRIVE" in conjunction with the RNIB, I have a password and a pin No.
FOR "overdrive" from the RNIB, and using Google I have accessed the
"OVERDRIVE" webpage, however, thereafter my difficulties arise
notwithstanding that I have read the RNIB's instructions, my attempts to
sign in have been rejected, also I cannot identify and access the library
site in order to input my details, apparently the library link is near the
bottom of the webpage but thus far it has eluded me, I would therefore
appreciate your help on a very fundemental step by step bases, explaining to
me in the simplest of terms just as to how exactly you successfully access
and operate the RNIB "OVERDRIVE" system.
In anticipation I thank you sincerely.
Aidan Carolan

Hi all,
Is anyone using the OverDrive app or website to listen to audio books from
the NCBI library or a local library?
I thought the app was a brilliant idea, but it’s not at all user-friendly.
It’s not specifically designed for screen reader users anyway, but I also
know sighted people who find it confusing. It’s ok if you just want to
brows, but the search on my IPhone works only when I turn VO off to
activate the search field.
The German library for the blind designed their own app to listen to their
audio books, which is very easy to use and I was wondering if the NCBI
could do the same, if users would be interested. Does anyone know if the
RNIB have an app like that?
Best wishes
