Thanks for that info, I didn't know the voice mate was discontinued, it
was
a great little piece of equipment as long as the battries weren't allowed
run out for two long. Can anyone else on the list give us more ideas for
useful equipment they use everyday?.

For reminders, memos etc. I use the Voice Mate and also my mobile. I find
the Voice Mate just great but unfortunately, Breda, NCBI Shop tells me

the Voice Mate has been discontinued and the replacement is not as good

also bigger which is a disadvantage for carrying around.

I suppose this is one of the reasons I use "Microsoft Outlook". It has
a built in appointments calendar, you can set up alarms and works
pretty nicely with jaws. Note that Microsoft outlook is different than
Outlook Express but the only major differences between the two email
programs is that Microsoft Outlook has more features such as I
described. I have also taken to using my mobile phone recently for
reminders so you might want to look at that but maybe other people on
this list will come forward and give us their thoughts on what they
use.
