Hi all

You may recall I inquired on the list about a phone with large print when my nokia 3510i came to the end of its natural life a few weeks back, well, I upgraded to a 6101.

The phone book and text message print is quite good and the main menus are just about adaquate but some of the smaller detail for example checking names in the call register or using the reminders and calander are 'very' small.

Just thought I'd share this with you in case anyone is in the same predicament. I'd still like to know if anyone has found a phone to match the quality of the 3510i. Such a pity they don't make them anymore.

Any info on phones with speech would also be welcome. Its not an option I've explored yet but would like to know whats out there.

Thanks in antic...

Edel

Hi Noreen,

Thanks for that info, I didn't know the voice mate was discontinued, it was
a great little piece of equipment as long as the battries weren't allowed
run out for two long. Can anyone else on the list give us more ideas for
useful equipment they use everyday?.

Paul.

Hi Susan & Paul,
For reminders, memos etc. I use the Voice Mate and also my mobile. I find
the Voice Mate just great but unfortunately, Breda, NCBI Shop tells me that the Voice Mate has been discontinued and the replacement is not as good and
also bigger which is a disadvantage for carrying around.

Hi Susan,

I suppose this is one of the reasons I use "Microsoft Outlook". It has
a built in appointments calendar, you can set up alarms and works
pretty nicely with jaws. Note that Microsoft outlook is different than
Outlook Express but the only major differences between the two email
programs is that Microsoft Outlook has more features such as I
described. I have also taken to using my mobile phone recently for
reminders so you might want to look at that but maybe other people on
this list will come forward and give us their thoughts on what they
use.

Paul.
