Hi Jackie,
Went in to an o2 store down town earlier and the first thing they
said was "contact NCBI)!
Anyway then when the knew that I knew something of what I was
talking of, well then it was different, great support!
Everything is almost fine, they loading settings for me and all that
but I can't receive audio messages still but can pictures so I was
given a phone number to contact: 1850601740.
Now I don't give up easily but for what we can do with the audio
messaging well it may not be worth any more bother.
I will call the number though.
Good news is however is that that they put me online!
Phone online well another thread perhaps.
I do still hopefully have your notes of navigating the webb online
still! smiile!
Sitting in a hotel in Carlow tonight accessed (over a beer as I am
on the hols) browsed the Easy Links site with my phone keeping
up-to-date!
Thank you,
Best,
Tony Sweeney

Thanks tony
it sounds like you may need a sim change. The audio messages are
great when croaking happy birthday to a friend or family member. I'm
having issues in recieving them but can send them. Its my sim that
is the problem, but cant do anything until i get my paws on stuart
as the talks licence is tied to the sim card so dont want to risk
changing sims encase i lose talks.
Good luck
jackie

Jackie,
Contacted o2 and they tell me that my settings are OK from their
end!
I was told to check
the web option which I did but no joy but there was something about
WAP
there!
Told that I should take my sim cardand try it in another phone that
definitely has MMM!
Welll I know lots of folk with phones but am darned if I go asking
them if
they have multi media or nay! Smiile!
As a matter of interest, MM messages are about twice the price of a
regular
text, no charge for receiving.
Yes as you suggest I will indeed "hop" down to an o2 store and have
them
check all that out, settings and the like, and can report back to
the list
as to how I get on; good I'd say by the sound of it .
Might just be of use to some.
Best,
Tony --- Original Message -----

Hey tony
if you hop along to your nearest o2 store they can check your
settings or
you might just meed a sim card change. It just sounds like the
settings are
wrong.
Happy hopping
yours

No probs Eleanor.
Thanks for your input but as you say it's I'm sure possibly like
that!
I don't have a problem with reading text messages
but that audio (multimedia) facility (when it works) could be
indeed an
advantage for some of us I reckon.
Have a great week.

Now Tony you may have a point there but with regard to contract but
I am
not sure. I will try sending from my pay as you go phone and see if
it
works. Actually with the greatest of respect, so do not get me
wrong, it
may be to do wtith the model of phone. I am not familiar with
yours. On
the other hand it may be 02 that do not support it. I will try next
week
when I am in Ireland as I have an 02 phone.

Eleanor again,
Sent a multimedia message to myself (how sad am I smile) as a
test
(audio) and I ggot a message from o2 to say that my phone is not
supported
for that.
Also as you say to go to online with an url they give.
Oh what a hassle that could be!
I was thinking that that audio facilitty would be great for those
who
just want to listen to a greeting from a family member or other.
Think that if one had a contract phone that that facility could
be
there.
Yes short and sweet, that's it!

Like you Tony I have sent audio message to a friend but she
hadn't a
clue what it was all about when she received it. I made the message
which
was excellent and of course not too long, otherwise it will not go.
It goes
as multi-media. When I checked in my Sent folder the message was
there and
I was able to select on the message icon and it played just fine for
me.
Sometimes when sending a multi-media message the person may not be
able to
view it immediately and maybe in this case hear it immediately.
Certainly
if this happens with Vodafone, a link on-line is given where the
message can
be viewed.

Hi Folk,
I use NokiaE51 and wonder can you receive audio messages with
it (or
indeed other Nokia phones)?
I can certainly send them which I did but we couldn't find it
on the
E51 when the text message sent, accompanying came in!
Has anyone successfully retrieved audio messages using their
Nokia?
Tony
