I've been messing around with the IRinger software. It is very handy for
creating ring tones for the IPhone. I was just wondering if it is
possible
to select certain parts of the song using Jaws?

I use a lovely piece of software for creating ringtones.
the the ringtones are saved as m4r for the iPhones and and mp3 for the
normal mobile phones.
what I like about this piece of software you can have it copy directly to
iTunes.
the first URl below is for the website, and the second URl is for the
software it self.

Do you know how to stop Voice Over speaking the caller ID each time the
iPhone rings? I would like if I could choose by touching the screen to

You can create and add your own ring tones using ITunes as follows
1Open iTunes.
Notes: If ITunes doesn't open automatically and you need to launch it,

2Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.
Notes: Tab over to the list of existing songs or general music within the
music section of ITunes and make your selection.
3Listen to the song and find the part of it you want to use. The chorus

5Right-click the song or use the application key to open up the context

and select "Get Info." With the down arrow, pressing enter key to

time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Start Time" in the
minutes:seconds (i.e., 2:01) format.
8 Tab key once more and Type in the end time of your ringtone in the
text
box next to "Stop Time." Make sure the ringtone is no more than 40
seconds
long.
9 Next tab key over to the "OK." Button and press spacebar.
10 For the next step, Right-click or press application key on your song
again and select "Convert Selection to AAC by pressing the enter key."
Notes:Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate
version usually just beneath the original song.
11 Right-click or press the application key on the ringtone and select
"Delete" using the arrow keys followed by the enter key.
12Click or use the spacebar on the "Keep Files" button.
13 In this step we need to locate the file we just created, It's usually
in
your User folder under "Music > iTunes > iTunes Music" and under the
band's
name. It will have an extension of m4a.
Notes: In Windows it might be stored in; c:\users\user name\music\itunes
14Replace the m4a extension of your ringtone with m4r. You can either
press
the F2 key to rename your file on a windows machine, or press keys,
"control, shift, command + letter M" and select "Get Info" on a Mac.
15Click "Use .m4r" or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that
the
change may affect the use of your file.
16Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to
your
ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.
17Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones..
