Hi All,

Was just wondering if any of you have recently checked your Avast for the
"latest program update" This is different from just a normal daily update
and is best checked out and performed manually. I have written up some
instructions below on how to do this so maybe as an exercise you could
attempt it for yourselves.

[Updating Avast Program]

1. Close up all applications you have open and move focus to the desktop
with keys, "winkey + M"

2. Press letter "A" till you hear jaws say Avast or notice the Avast icon
in view.

3. Press enter key on it or double left click to open up the Avast program.
Notes: Sometimes if Avast has never been opened up in this way before there
will appear two windows, one will be a kind of instructional window with
details of how to use Avast while lying behind it is the window we are
interested in. To remove the instructional window from our view, use keys,
"alt + F4". If this worked for you then the screen behind the instructional
one will appear and you should hear jaws if that is what you use say
something like, "Dummy checkbox checked"
This is where we need to be. Also just as a further note, Avast performs a
memory scan each time you open it up in the way I have described above and
this only takes a few moments to complete so leave it alone till done.

4. Now that we are on the screen we wish to be on, press your application
key and then press the letter "U" for update.

5. Now press the down-arrow once and you should hear "program update", press
enter key here and allow it to begin checking for a program update and then
a subsequent download.

Notes: This process should take approximately around 3 minutes to complete
and when it finishes there will be a "close button", just press the spacebar
on this. When all is completed you may be asked to allow your computer to
reboot, you should allow this action to happen. When the computer has
rebooted, your anti virus will have been updated.

Good luck,

Paul.
