Hi Jenny,

Perhaps you are right. For years now software like Linux and Apple have
striven to build in a speech module into their systems. We are told from
various sources that Microsoft who design windows could  also implement
speech into their operating systems but they don't seem to have the  desire
to implement good quality speech or magnification into their windows OS. I
suppose it is some sort of unspoken bargain between MS and the third parties
who  design speech and magnification packages.

hi paul, as you know i am not well up on computers but getting there.
i often wondered why a screen reader was not built in to new computers, as
they are so expensive.
perhaps we haven't made enough noise to the manufacturers.
