Hi Paul,
Try the key combination control + insert + 1 through 0 on the number row.
This should read the individual columns in the list view for the currently
highlighted entry.
In my case control + insert + 1 reads the name of the file, control +
insert + 2 reads its size etc.

hi folks
i have a folder with a list of documents and as i arrow through them i am
told that a sighted person sees a comment or description box of the
particular file that the pc cursor is on. i.e. it reads out the details of
that file, type, size, date modified.
obviously therefore i have my folder view details checked.
what i am wondering is, can i get the jaws cursor to read these individual
boxes as i arrow through the files.
