Hi Tim,

If you press "F12" it will ask if you want to enable saving mode, just tab
to yes and press spacebar and you will be able to edit the documents and
save them.

Paul.

Hi,

Some of the documents I work with seem to be protected, at least Jaws says
'protected view'. Anybody know if I can change this?

Hi Gerry,

This is a wonderful tip, and has made reading documents with word 2010 far
easier for me, so thanks for passing it on.

I noticed a 'set as default' option in the styles menu and I seem to have
applied the word 2003 style now on all documents, or at least they are
reading much better!

Thanks,

Stuart.

Thanks Gerry.

Will give that a try.

Hi, Tim,

Here is something else to try along with draft view.

Click alt-H then G and you will be at the "Styles Set" submenu. Hit <Enter>
and you can arrow up and down a list of styles. Choose Windows 2003 by
hitting <Enter>. I understand that this returns the appearance to what was
present in Office 2003 and may work better.

This change is only temporary, so will revert to the default style for each
new document. I know in Office 2007 you could go back into the "Style Set"
submenu after choosing a style and set it to the default, but I can't find a
way of doing this in Office 2010.

Give it a bash and see if it helps.

Take care,

Gerry ellis

Thanks Donal will try draft view.

situation.

Try view draft tim. Turd 2010 and jaws 12 were among the main reasons I
stopped using windows. Incidentally, I'm reliably informed by sighted
friends and colleagues that the ribbon bar is as awful for them as for us.
