Hi maureen,

To test that hypotheses, then, uninstall K1000. I don't think the problem
will be solved if you do that, however. My suspicion is that it may have to
do with some setting in Windows XP Pro: that it could be due to the
installation of anythinng now, rather than Kurzweil 1000 per se. System
Restore again, I suppose: and help from paul etc.

Bad news Flor, after doing system restore the word problem was rectified but
I then discovered to-day that my new Kurtzweil 11, du to system restore, had
gone out of kilter so after re-installing Kurtzweil the selection problem
manifest again. Obviously Kurtzweil is causing it somehow.

System Restore will work, provided that, if you installed anything since
the
last time you did it, you uninstall that item until after you've done the
  System Restore.

Michael and Ronan! I have managed to rectify my problem by doing a system
restore. Hope it stays that way now!

    Hi VICS List Members

Like Maureen & Ronan, I too have been experiencing problems with JAWS
version 6 when trying to select a word using Shift+Cntrl+right arrow. I
  find
I am only selecting the initial letter of the word. This doesn't happen
  with
the applications Wordpad or Notepad. I have tried requesting assistance
  from
JAWS support but gave up in disgust.

FS seem only interested in getting out new updates of JAWS so as to use
up
the maintenance agreements that users are paying for.

    Hi Maureen,

I am experiencing the same problem in Word 2003 with JAWS 7.0

It seems to be intermittent. It sometimes goes away if I stop and start
JAWS. I am not sure what is causing it. If I get to the bottom of it I
  will
    let the list know!
