Dave,
I use Excel 2016 regularly with NVDA version 2016.4 on Windows 10 but I
have only met this behaviour when in protected mode after opening a spread
sheet sent to me as an attachment. Pressing F2 gets rid of protection mode.
However, I don't think you are talking about a fresh start of a document are
you? The fact that it clears up when you refresh NVDA suggests that you
might have something like an NVDA Add-on running. Is that possible? Can you
check the NVDA add-ons and see if something is running?
All the best,
Cearbhall

Subject: [vicsireland] NVDA Issue
Hi All,
I'm having some issues with NVDA on my work laptop since recently updating
to the latest version, 2016.4.
I'm running it on a Windows 7 machine, with Microsoft Office 2010.
Firstly I'm finding it a little more sluggish than I was before. Has anyone
else experienced this?
Secondly I'm having a strange issue with Microsoft Excel. Sometimes now when
I'm in an Excel sheet, I hear a beeping sound, and then I'm unable to carry
out simple commands, even to type into a cell. NVDA says "Not supported in
this document." If I restart NVDA it goes back to normal.
I've heard this beeping sound in Outlook too, though haven't noticed any
particular problems afterwards as yet.
I can't figure out what if anything I do to cause this, so can't reproduce
it on demand.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
Dave
