[vicsireland] Re: DVD Player

Paul, thanks for coming back to me. I have tried what you said but I am afraid
no joy. Bert was on to me last night and he couldn't get it going either. Now
I have had sight look at it and the picture element is working, but the sound
isn't. The young lad even brought in his own laptop to try it and the DVD
worked no problem for him. - it's a puzzle!

  3. Tab to "device manager" and press spacebar.

  4. Tab key once to the list of items and arrow down to CDRoms.

5.Right arrow in here and down arrow usually once to your DVD/CDRW device.

  6. Press the application key and down arrow to properties.

  7. Press keys "control + tab" to jump to the "DVD regions".

  8. Tab into the list of countries and down arrow till you come to Ireland.

  9. Tab key to region 2 and press spacebar then tab to the ok button.
Note: This will not work unless you have the DVD already in the drive of the

See how it goes for you.

Tony, it looks as if my settings are set at 1 - United States as the DVD I
was given is that of Brendan O'Carroll's and I don't think he is anything other
than European! I managed to change the default in Real Player to 2 but still
cannot play the DVD. I cannot find where to change the setting in Windows
media.
All help welcome as I hate technology to best me.

  Maureen, with thanks
