Maureen,

Instead of disabling Flash as a general verbosity preference, they would
have done better to suggest disabling is as a *personal Verbosity*
preference, applicable to only the RyanAir Web site. (Shift+Insert+v gives
these per site specific settings.) Also, know that Adobe took over
macromedia, thus my raising that possibility. (Showing off their wares, so
to speak.) I don't guarantee that enabling Flash will make the Adobe site
work properly for you: But, as it is working for me (I haven't disabled
Flash), and others you've heard from, it might.

Yes Flor, I did disable "flash" in order to fix the continuous speech
problem which I was having with JAWS on the Ryanair website. This was
suggested by Freedom Scientific in order to get over this issue as they
identified the problem to Adobe Flash and said they wouldn't be able to
rectify it until JAWS 10.00. It's like taking medication, in doing good
to one thing, one is undoing something else!

Maureen,
Which link?
Also, you might try ctrl-alt-delete, to see if JAWS speaks then. You will
see a list of the programs opened, and when you tab will be given the option
to End Task. Did you disable Flash? If so, that just might be the source
of your problems.

MessageI don't know what is wrong with my machine then! When I googled for
it I could get in to the first page but on clicking on a link - nothing.
Alt F4, alt and left arrow, escape, nothing would make JAWS speak, I had to
close down manually every time and restart the computer to get JAWS back. I
would be glad if someone would throw some light on this for me. It is very
annoying as I have a new machine running windows XP Pro with JAWS 8.00 and
to paraphrase Tony, , "it cost a lot of dosh!"
Thanks to you Noreen and Joan Ann for coming back to me.

  Hi Maureen,
Site opened for me with Jaws 8 and I could access Headings and links
without any difficulty.

I am trying the Adobe website www.adobe.com to seek out a download for
someone and every time I go to it JAWS is immobilised. Can someone try this
site please. I am using JAWS 8.00.
    Thanks in advance,
    Maureen.
