Just a little over 30 years ago! , As i recall, Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh was President. Am i right in thinking he launched it? Incidentally, he served from December 1976-October 1978. none of us are getting any younger! Smile! You have been giving a bit of time and thought to this, for which I appreciate! You know it is not so long ago that access to material in a visual format was not available to us! I suppose it is a little bit of a pain not to be able to activate certain hyperlinks in Word docs but isn't it great to be able to read those albeit perhaps going about it in a little divert way! Will check out the HTML version. I remember in the not too distant past not having access to the written word, and then I thought of starting Sceal Beo, [livving news]. Wonderful how things have improved since for us VIP's thanks to Vics, NCBI and others! All the best, Tony.----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Lawler" <stuart.lawler@xxxxxxx> To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, April 07, 2008 7:52 AM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Talks Manual in HTML Hi Tony, Links in the html version will work in the same way as they would if you were on a web page. In short, you may find this an easier way to navigate to the information you want as opposed to the word document. Do you know are there links or hyperlinks to be negotiated and are they easy to overcome? I enquire as one who does not know much about such things, but am always willing to learn! Thanks, Tony.----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Lawler" <stuart.lawler@xxxxxxx> To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, April 05, 2008 8:43 AM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Hyperlinks in Word Hi Tony, I'll see what I can do, although the manual is also available in html, take a look at www.nuance.com/talks/ Stuart. ************** Sent from my O2 mobile device. You obviously deal with the Talks people, Nuance a bit as you sell their Talks software! Would it be possible for you perhaps within the next week or so to have a word with them and see if they can enlighten us on the matter? In all fairness they may not be aware of their hyperlinks not working and possibly would appreciate feedback of that! Thanks. Tony. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Lawler" <stuart.lawler@xxxxxxx> To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 04, 2008 7:36 AM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Hyperlinks in Word > Hi Tony, > > The manual was downloaded from the Nuance website. > > Stuart. > > -----Original Message----- > From: vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Tony Sweeney > Sent: 04 April 2008 00:06 > To: vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Hyperlinks in Word > > Hi Flor, > > Yeh, it's a bit iffy! > > Not what you say but getting those said hyperlinks to work! > > I suspect that as Robbie intimated that that document was copied and pasted > so therefore would that be the problem? > > May I enquire of Stuart in what manner did you acquire that manual? > > It would be good to get to the bottom of this! > > Thanks to all those of you to date who contributed to this thread but I > would like to keep this subject open till after the weekend at least, if I > may! > > Have a great weekend! > > Tony. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Flor Lynch" <florlync@xxxxxx> > To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Thursday, April 03, 2008 9:31 PM > Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Hyperlinks in Word > > > > That being said, i.e., I got the hyperlinks to work (but unfortunately, > not > > reliably).
