Isn't RTÉ Gold on the DAB radio? (it's on-line as well as the other RTÉ DAB stations, etc.) But on analogue radio even RTÉ is *too dependent* on ads - which interrupt the flow. When it was obvious RTÉ was going current events programming all morning and afternoon with the exception of ronan Collins's slot, quite a long time ago now, they could (and probably should) have done this type of 'third channel', as I thought back in the 90's. or, does this really mean that 4FM however commercial won't be able to cut it? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scanlon, Tony" <tony.scanlon@xxxxxx> To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 2:26 PM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: 4FM Hi Tony. Yes there is a gap there for a good oldies music station. Hard to see how all these stations can survive all the not so good news we are getting at present. Think my radio would be in the bin if it wasn't for the likes of Dublin South and West community stations and the likes that carry a wide range of special interest programs without the constant barrage of adds you get on the bigger outfits. All the best Tony ________________________________ This e-mail and any attached files are from FAS and are confidential. This E-mail is intended only for the addressee indicated in the message.
