This is not really a direct answer to your question, but I hate typing on a
screen, whether touch typing or other method. Life is much easier with a
Bluetooth keyboard. For anything more than a couple of words, or for text
you can not readily dictate, Bluetooth keyboarding is the most hassle free
way to do your typing.

Hello,
I have had my ipad mini for a little over a year and I am still struggling
with typing on the screen. I have the Speeddots screen protector on my
ipad. I am set up for touch typing, but I am still making a lot of errors,
especially extra letters being inserted. I've found using standard typing
with the split tap method to be difficult because I can't seem to get the
hang of the split tap. Therefore, does anyone have any techniques that
might help my accuracy using touch typing or how to do the split tap?
