I believe that the USB port on a Kindle fire is a Micro USB and the Stream USB 
port is a Mini., Micro being the smaller. So if you buy a OTG cable you should 
have the correct cable to connect a USB keyboard.

  If you're referring to what they refer to as the short cable shipped
  with the 2nd generation Victor Reader Stream you are correct that it
  is indeed an OTG cable but it was engineered in such a way that it
  will only fit the Victor Stream. By all means give it a try just do it
  gently to avoid damaging the USB port on the tablet and you'll see
  that it just won't fit.
