hi tom. i'll answer the first question.
there is no physical mic button on the fire.
all audio on and mute function is virtual in the app software itself.
such as.
facebook live. when tapping that function, the recording video starts
and the mic is on/active.
alexa. when tapping/holding the home button, alexa is active and the
mic is on/active.
camera. when tapping video, the video recording starts and the mic is
on/active.
zoom.us. when this conference software is started one has the ability
to shut down your face/personal video and mute audio so your
background noise doesn't enter the conversation/presentation.
other software/apps work the same way allowing the mic to be active or not.
stay well ... william

Hi Everyone,
I just received my Fire 7 in. tablet.
I have a few questions:
Where is the mike button so I can talk to my Fire?
I have the underground section for Aps, what aps can I download that will
be
totally acessable?
I would like some games just to learn how to use the screen and some note
pads and some other useful aps that will help me with everyday tasks and
perhaps some gps.
Does anyone have any suggestions for settings on my Fire?
Thanks!
