Hi All,
Thanks for the warm welcome. I am learning a lot from you guys already.

Sundance has been with me for 2 years as of last month. I don't think she
ever had clicker training before, but she took to it very quickly. She is
extremely food motivated, which helps. <smile> I think I'm figuring out
that I can use the clicker with the left hand after all, so long as I
position it right hanging from my left wrist. It worked well today anyway.

So far I've been amazed at how eager she is to figure out what I am asking
of her when the clicker and food is involved, and how quick she is to do it
again next time. Just as an example, I have taught her to show me where a
trash can is downtown near where her relief spot is during the day while
working. It can be tricky to find if you're in the wrong spot, as it's not
right on a corner or anything. Before I started clicking and treating her
for finding it, she knew how to do it but wasn't always consistent, or she
wouldn't stop in the right place. Sometimes she'd stop a bit too soon, or
start to walk past it before she'd alert me that we were there. Now, after
the first time I clicked and treated her for finding it, she practically
runs to it and stops exactly where she's supposed to every time, even
yesterday when I forgot to bring my bait bag and clicker... Poor Sunny
didn't get her expected reward, but I still gave her lots of praise, of
course, for doing so good. <smile> I think she understood even though she
really missed her treat. She was very happy I remembered it today. ,smile>

Thanks for letting me ramble a bit. I'm very proud of how she's doing with
this, so I just wanted to brag a little.
