That's probably the obvious step I'm missing. Since these are usually books
I'm reading and not editing, and since when the unit is in standby it does
save my position, I didn't consider saving before rebooting. I'll try that
and see what happens.

My experience mirrors yours, so at least you're not alone. The Varioultra
is great at keeping my place as long as I've just put the unit in standby,
but if I reboot it and open my files, I'm returned to the top of the file.
Thankfully I don't often have occasion to reboot altogether, but I am
curious if this is expected behavior or not.

Hi,

I am wondering if I am doing anything wrong in regards to this. I have a
number of txt files that I loaded onto the VU, I would like it to remember
the last reading position for these files and ideally open the last open
file within the word processor.
Looking through the manual it just says its an 'automatic setting' .
I'm not sure if that is supposed to signify it should just work, but at
least using the flow I use now it doesn't. Here's what I do:
- Open File manager , find a file and open it. The file loads.
- File comes up, I scroll down a bit, I close the file and go back to main
menu.
3. I reboot the device, open the word processor to see a blank page.
Reloading the file through File manager takes me back to the top of the
file. Does a remembered position not persist across reboots?
