hough my VU-20 has never had its battery completely run down, the date and
time reverted to 7:00 AM on Jan. 6, 2006. I've read 10.2.6 several times
and still have questions, as obviously it's not accepting the resets of
date and time.
First, does the master switch need to be set to computer braille, or can I
just enter the appropriate characters regardless of this master setting?
<2> After clearing the date line, am I supposed to supply the slash
marks, (3-4) or does the Vario insert them later? Same question for
the colons (1-5-6) in setting time?
<3> Are the seconds in time setting automatically set to 00 or must
they be entered?
<4> I find no mention of A.M. or P.M. and how to show them. Given that
this is a European unit I'm surprised there isn't a 24-hour option for
setting and expressing the time.
These are my questions which don't seem to appear in the manual under
10.2/6. Oddly, if the unit is set to Grade II, the clear message "Date
and Time could not be set!" appears. There's no such prompt when in
computer braille.
Thanks to any VU user who can clear some of this up. I guess the loss of
time is academic at this point, but don't see why it happened. Thanks!
