OK kiddies,
Here's a gauntlet. I realize that there are only a few of us in this list,
but here's my idea.

Sue Heath is the Keeper of the VA Comp list. She and I talked about this a
bit over the last couple of years, and finally I asked if she was interested in
doing it when she was in the right mood (mostly I think she likes her new
hobby of web design).

Now, I'm going to pull together all the sightings for Fauquier for 2004, and
put that in a form of a Comp List, and persuade Ms. Heath to host it for me.
I suspect if we're all nice, we might be able to get her to put others up
there. Anyone up for combing listservs and contacting the folks that bird in
the
county(ies) you bird in and trying to get something up? Bragging rights to
the first person to do it. I've done nothing for Fauquier at this point, so
we're all at the starting line. Hell, I'll buy beers for whoever does it
first.

Also, I've recently taken the Virginia State List and put it in taxonomic
order, current with the Seventh AOU and supplements through last summer. If
anyone wants it, I'll send it to them (not an offer I'll extend on VA-Birds,
mainly because I'd like to filter traffic through the new VARCOM website
(unveiling
soon), or Sue's site, and I don't feel like just giving it away, as it was a
pain in the ass to do. Alternatively, you can go to Sue's site, as the Comp
List is in this order. My list has scientific names and such, the Comp List
does not (though when the state list is posted to the VARCOM site, it will).

Let me know if you want it. It is in Excel.
