I looked at the book "Egg Dates for Virginia Birds" and there was a
note about young in the nest on Aug. 11, and another as late as Sept.
10! So its not too late. The only way I know would be as Bob
suggested and watch for the adults carrying food. If the nest is not
too far up, you might hear the chicks begging.
