[va-richmond-general] sandpipers and egrets and bees (OH, MY!!)

Hi, all-
While walking around behind camp (out in Maidens in Goochland) today during
a free period, I discovered a very large swamp with lots of dead snags in it.
The following wildlife was observed in and around the swamp:

Great Egret (2)
Green Heron (2 or 3, one was an imm.)
Great Blue Heron (at least 10 - all flew off together when I approached)
Spotted Sandpiper (1 or 2)
Killdeer (2, at least)
Belted Kingfisher (1)
Am. Crow
Indigo Bunting (1 or 2)
American Goldfinch (several)
Scarlet Tanager
White-eyed Vireo
Swallow sp. (1)
unk. swallow-sized perched in a distant tree (3)
unk. thrush-sized brown bird (1)
Also, a very large nest at the top of a snag - possibly used by one of the
herons, but big enough for an Osprey. I didn't see any but was sure I heard
them about a week ago

ALSO:
Dragonfly species (3 - Common Whitetail, Common Pondhawk, and one very similar
to a male Pondhawk that I can't identify)
at least 10 turtles (River Cooters, most likely)
Butterfly species (3 - skipper sp. (2), Silver Spotted Skipper (4 - three
perched on same plant), Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (1))
Honeybees on a bush (at least 10 that I could see - all on the same flowers)
Ladybird Beetle
Spotted Cucumber Beetle
Tachinid Fly sp..
Syrphid Fly sp.
E. Carpenter Bees
Japanese Beetles (6, unfortunately, on very large white flowers. Some of the
flowers were closed up and were drooping on the bush they were on,. They were
very long).
There were also fish swimming around, and lots of Trumpet Flowers and some
Purple Thistle
