A few minutes ago from my office window I glimpsed a bird that may have
been an Anhinga. It was in the vicinity of the Heronry at the pipeline
overlook between 12th and 14th streets. I first noticed it (without
binoculars) descending toward the Heronry; the silhouetted shape was all
I saw, but I got a flying cross impression. Long tail, stiff
outstretched wings and neck. By the time I did get the bins on it views
were not conclusive. Could have been a cormorant, but didn't seem right.
Anyway I thought I'd let you all know in case you wanted to look for it.
I'm going to check it out- I'll let you know.
