Henricus is farther southeast and has much better habitat than Meadow Farms. I
don't think I've ever seen one before in Henrico or in Richmond city proper.

Michael,
It's not that rare to see one in Richmond. I've seen them regularly at
Henricus and other places nearby.

I thought I read on here that someone had seen a Great Egret in Richmond,
but I'm not sure. Anyway, whether or not anyone else has, I saw one in Richmond
today. It was at Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park, along the big pond where all
the Canada Geese hang out. It flew around the pond for a bit, then flew up and
perched in a tree. It's rare to see an egret in Richmond - even rarer to see
one perch in a tree!
