Yes, we had a male Common Yellowthroat (COYE) at our suet log yesterday. We had
heard them behind the house recently. We live on Falling Creek, and have let
the area near the creek grow up without any control for the last 5-6 years.
There are thick bushes there, perfect habitat for the COYE. It sure was nice to
have our efforts culminated by seeing that beautiful, gleaming yellow and black
bird there fluttering up to the suet.
By the way, if you have Avisys bird listing software you can enter banding
codes directly without having to search for the bird in a list. That saves
loads of time when entering data from a field trip. Using the codes while
recording during the trip also saves time, leaving more for seeing birds. Not
for everyone, but good for some.
Hope you see lots of birds. Join or form a team and do the RAS Birdathon. You
will be helping RAS help the birds.
