Yesterday afternoon as the clouds lifted and the sun shone down, the birds
in the yard seemed to celebrate. A pine warbler came to the suet.I've been
hearing him in the neighborhood for some time. The resident thrasher came
out of the woods, visited the suet, and foraged in the yard like he does in
summertime. He also found the tallest tree and perched in the top of it to
sing for 15 minutes.
My bluebirds are nest building in the box, and singing.
And luckily for me, I got a new yard bird yesterday: an American Kestrel
flew across my end of the lake and perched in a neighbor's tall tree.he
makes species #113 on the yard list.
I also had 10 fish crows fly over and a bald eagle fly over.
