I heard my first prothonotary at the Wetlands on 4/5. This morning I heard
a prairie warbler there, and two days ago (a few hours before the big storm
rolled through) there were so many parulas moving in by the boardwalk that
some of them were actually on or near the ground and I was looking down on
the green patch. Common yellowthroats the day before that, what sounded
like a yellow warbler on 4/5 at Huguenot Flatwater, and yellow throats
yellow rumps everywhere.

Subject: [Va-bird] Prothonotary Warblers are back
Male prothonotaries have been seen at Pony Pasture/Wetlands, Deep Bottom,
Presquile, Henricus, and the Rice Center around Richmond. Only the males
are back currently, as they are beginning to establish territories along the
James River.
