[va-richmond-general] VaEagles - Thank You

posted for Bryan:

On behalf of the Center for Conservation Biology, I would like to express our appreciation to the Virginia birding community for exploring the VaEagles nest locator and reporting eagle nests that were previously unknown to us. Since the launch last Thursday, the site has had more than 5,000 visits and nearly 30,000 page views. More importantly, you have reported several new nests. We will update the site shortly to reflect your information.

We will always be interested in nests that are unknown to us. If you know of eagle nests in your area, please visit VaEagles (http://www.ccb-wm.org/virginiaeagles) confirm that the nest is not in our database, and let us know.

Our hats are off to Patti, Sandy et al. who have been coordinating the Highland Eagle Watch (http://highlandeaglewatch.blogspot.com/ ). We only wish that there were similar efforts in other areas of the Piedmont and mountains.

Sincerely,

Bryan Watts
