Hello, I just joined the list. We have also had robins at our feeders this
week. The bluebirds started coming a couple of weeks ago when it got very
cold - they love hulled sunflower seeds. This week we saw two birds we've
have never seen before: a veery, and brown-headed nuthatch. I had to look
them up in the guidebook! We keep sunflower seeds in the feeders, but I have
found by putting hulled seeds in the feeder at my kitchen window, a great
variety of birds will come to get this treat!
We live in southwestern Chesterfield County in a subdivision with wooded areas.
