[va-richmond-general] Today's birds

I was on my way to Chickahominy's powwow today down in Charles City, but got a
late start. So, I figured I'd run an errand first, and then go birding instead
and see the powwow tomorrow.
Today's walk was on Dance Forest Road, off the Beach Road side of Pocahontas
State Park. And as I went through there and explored some of the smaller
offshoot trails, it seems I was destined to have a powwow with members of the
Warbler Tribe instead!

Pine Warbler
American Redstart (m)
Black and White Warbler (m)
Ovenbird (sitting in a little holly bush and fussing loudly)
Hooded Warbler (m)
Prothonotary Warbler (f)
Indigo Bunting*
Other birds were in evidence, too:

White-eyed Vireo
White-breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren*
Carolina Chickadee (very vocal and busy.but then again, when aren't they?)
Tufted Titmouse
Tree Swallow
Yellow-throated Vireo
Northern Flicker*
American Goldfinch (m)
Downy Woodpecker (m)
Redbellied Woodpecker (j)
Pileated Woodpecker*

I spied a Yellow-billed Cuckoo playing tug-o-war with a bright, neon green
caterpillar that was easily the length and thickness of my index finger. The
bird pulled and the insect tenaciously held on to that twig! I could see the
Cuckoo getting very annoyed and frustrated, too, and it resorted to a bit of
tearing and jabbing to finally pry that poor caterpillar loose. It dropped to
the ground and the Cuckoo practically jumped on it like a Blue Jay would.
Incredible!
