Linda and I traveled to Ruckersville yesterday to see the Snowy owl and were
rewarded with a good long viewing that included seeing it glide 2 different
times. She perched on a telephone pole that is in the field where the silos
are. She attracted quite a crowd, many of whom were birders, and quite a few
locals who stopped to view it through the spotting scopes that were setup.
The locals all were very curious about the type owl, where it is from and
why it's here.
As a bonus there was a small flock of white-crowned sparrows working the
wooden and wire fence line near the house.
