[va-richmond-general] Riverside Dr. this morning, construction update

The wood ducks are still there near 7751 Riverside up against the island.
Saw one of 2 pied billed grebes attempting to swallow a fish that was a
little on the large side, but it finally got it down. Forgot to mention
that one of the great black backed gulls yesterday had a large carp that it
had either found or caught and was picking at it out on one of the rocks.
Numbers looked low this morning, but that could change quickly. No sign of
redhead or canvasback, but I am sure they are still on the river. Lots of
still water is remaining frozen. Right now there are light flurries of snow
here.

The construction appears to be starting again at Rock Falls Dr. The closure
will be on Rock Falls according the worker I spoke to this morning-that was
the detour when Riverside was closed. It should still be possible to get
your duck fix while this is going on. Let you know what I see. I would not
avoid the area based on what I saw so far. Have a great day!
