[va-richmond-general] Riverside Dr., coot behavior

This morning through the fog I saw a single coot with a pied billed grebe
and a pair of mallards.  The drake was not happy with the coot, but the
really interesting thing was seeing the coot dive the way a ruddy usually
dives and staying under.  I honestly don't ever recall seeing that before.
Other than that it was just the usual suspects.  The coot had disappeared on
the return trip.  Kayakers were paddling right up to the spot where water
sluices through a gap in the Z Dam and one flipped over in that spot but was
able to get back up.  I guess they were honing their skills.  Yikes!  Hope
